Saskia Niño de Rivera

Saskia Niño de Rivera is an activist, co-founder, and spokesperson for the Reinserta Organization. She has over 17 years of experience in the prison system and crisis management. She holds a degree in Psychology with a specialization in criminology and criminal policy from INACIPE. Furthermore, she is a member of the National Observatory for the Prevention of the Recruitment of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents by organized crime and participates in the Comprehensive Protection System for Girls, Boys, and Adolescents. Additionally, she served as a Permanent Guest of Civil Society at the National Public Security Council for the period 2019-2021. She works as a True Crime consultant for Gato Grande Productions and serves as an executive producer for the Amazon series "Libre de Reír." She contributes as a columnist and special guest for El Universal on activism and security topics and has authored 5 books. Currently, she hosts a podcast called "Penitencia," which shares the stories of incarcerated individuals, aiming to humanize them and generate empathy to understand what led them to commit the crime and how society can prevent it. She is part of the Technical Committee of FUNO and leads the #HazElBienXAca initiative, a movement created in response to the hurricane OTIS catastrophe to provide humanitarian aid to Guerrero and affected areas.
