Navigating dos Mares is a podcast that has been created to shed light and meaning surrounding the bicultural life experiences – from childhood to adulthood – faced by most children of immigrants. From the universal truths that impact our coming of age to the distinct events that shape our life experiences – including our role in the family as navigator – the bicultural community will find a home, a haven, a respite from their travels.
María Twena is a bicultural pioneer and award-winning advertising and marketing executive, creator of the children’s book series MariVí la Navegadora Maestra, which aims to empower immigrant children and highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion. With a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in communications, Twena combines her passion for writing with her personal experiences to offer stories that reflect the challenges of growing up in two cultures. Additionally, her work has expanded to animated videos on YouTube, and she is the host and creator of the podcast Navigating dos Mares, where she explores the experiences of the children of immigrants.
